*** JUNE 19 MEETING MOVED TO WESTPORT COUNTRY PLAYHOUSE *** *** PLEASE DISREGARD ALL REFERENCES TO WESTPORT LIBRARY *** The June 19 meeting will be at the Westport Country Playhouse. The Playhouse is about 1/4 mile east of the library, just off the Post Road at 25 Powers Court. Heading east, the entrance is on the left, just beyond a Getty Station, traffic light and row of the three small houses containing businesses. (Coldwell Banker, William Pitt and I think Countrywide Mortgage) Heading west, the entrance is just beyond the park at the intersection with Compo Road (Route 136). Come in the main entrance and go to the Smilow Lounge on the second floor.

Entrepreneurs learn the ins and outs of short and long term goals setting and their importance when, on the very first day, they open their doors to business. However, with the stresses of work and family, it is easy to lose control of goal setting as well as the realization that truly thoughtful goal setting really drives everything we do well. In her presentation to FINE, Pat Van Haste of Van Haste Associates, Trumbull, Career Coaching and Consulting, will review the SMART principle with her audience and discuss how to apply SMART to business and family life. Using hands-on exercises designed to practice short and long term goals setting, audience members will reconnect to SMART and will learn to make a habit to apply SMART in both business and life decisions. Pat Van Haste is a Principal in Van Haste Associates, Inc. (http://patricia.vanhaste.com/about.htm) of Trumbull, CT. Among her credentials are: She holds Global Career Development Facilitator and Distance Credentialed Facilitator certifications as a Career Coach through the National Career Development Association and the Center for Credentialing in Education (an affiliate of the National Board of Certified Counselors). She also holds a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Connecticut. She is a member of the National Career Development Association. She serves on the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Southwestern Connecticut and as Secretary of the Business Education Initiative Foundation of Trumbull, Connecticut. She serves as an Adjunct Instructor at Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, Connecticut. She has hands-on experience in both career education and development with teen-agers through adults in business and educational settings.
