HANDMADE BY AUNT FLORA

More than 50 years ago, Aunt Flora started knitting and crocheting. She made all kinds of sweaters, slipovers, vests and afghans. When she retired to Florida and found working with yarns made her feel hotter, she took up the art of plastic canvas. After making hang-ups out of plastic canvas, she had small pieces left over and put these pieces together to form a covering for a candy kiss. Later she added eyes, nose and a note that said: "Squeeze my cheeks and I'll give you a kiss".

She gave these kisses out at birthdays and other parties. Before she knew it, she was asked to make them for favors at weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, confirmations, baby and bridal showers as well as many other events. Not only does everyone need a hug, everyone also needs a kiss.

Aunt Flora also does handmade miniature holiday mittens. They can be filled with money or candy, hung from a Christmas tree, used to decorate presents or fulfill a thousand other needs.

Please note all of Aunt Flora's items are made by hand the old-fashioned way and nothing is ever mass-produced by machine.
